In celebration of the 25-year anniversary of Beulah Alliance Church West Campus, N53 ARCHITECTURE was hired to lead the design of the Auditorium Rejuvenation project. In addition to the revitalization of the main auditorium, other objectives included providing a sense of warmth and connectedness in an expansive space as well as addressing acoustical issues.

N53’s design intent was to provide a contemporary interior that will complement the worship experience. Wooden panels provide both material warmth and variety to the space; furthermore, the panels are faceted, perforated and splayed to scatter sound waves for a more uniform audio experience. Sound absorbent panels are provided behind the perforated panels to reduce acoustic reflection. LED light strips are incorporated to provide illumination and dynamism. The lights also provide a visual boundary to the space – from any location within the auditorium the lighted panels are experienced peripherally.
