N53 ARCHITECTURE was engaged to design a major addition to Eaglemont Christian Church’s existing facility. The current auditorium functions as a gymnasium and a space for worship; in addition, the available space for the children’s and youth ministry is insufficient for the Church’s needs. The addition will include a new auditorium and balcony for 500, a coffee bar and wide foyer for fellowship. A portion of the new basement will provide child care programs during the week and Sabbath School on Sundays; the remainder of the basement includes a youth chapel and rec-room.

The design of the exterior acknowledges the town of Beaumont’s French heritage – the shape of the addition referencing an exaggerated mansard roof complete with punched window and stylized shutters. The various shades of orange phenolic panel reflect the colours of the Laurentide region in autumn.
