AUDITORIUM EXPANSION

BASEMENT AREA: 5,050 SQF

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

N53 ARCHITECTURE was approached to design a major addition to Eaglemont Christian Church’s existing facility. The current auditorium is a pre-engineered building that functions as a gymnasium and a space for worship. Presently, available space for children’s and youth ministry is lacking and posing a problem. The new addition will include a new auditorium and balcony for 500, a coffee bar and wide foyer for fellowship. Part of the new basement will function as a child care program during the week and for Sunday School on Sundays. The other half of the basement includes a youth chapel and rec-room.

The design of the exterior form pays acknowledgement to the town of Beaumont’s French heritage. The shape of the addition references a French Provincial mansard roof. The material choice for the walls are phenolic panels that provide multiple shades of colour. The choice of various shades of orange reflects the colours of the Laurentians in autumn.
